Last month I gave you a glimpse into Zoho and the Writer application, which is part of its online productivity suite. While there were some promising features contained in Writer, it’s clear that there are still some bugs to be worked out if Zoho wants to tout it as a complete application. Now I want to give you my take on Google Documents, with some specific focus on its word processing capability.

A new issue of attribute is upon us, and you know what that means. I get to bring you yet another gem from the endless repository of online and technical goodies! For July, I was really pondering a comparison between Google Documents and Zoho -- both of which are touted as online office productivity suites. It was a great premise, but the scope of the article made me realize that it could only work as a two-part series.

Last month we looked at the Dell Inspiron Mini 9 netbook and its mobile features. One of the prominent aspects of the Mini 9 (and most other netbooks) that I wanted to review in greater detail is the solid state drive (SSD) technology that it employs as a data storage solution, and how SSDs differ from other hard drives. For the purposes of this article, I want to look at SSD vs. hard disk drives (HDD) technology as it pertains to mobile computing -- particularly in netbooks.

I’m the kind of guy that’s constantly on the move. To accommodate my mobile lifestyle, I’ve highly depended on my trusty laptop to keep me connected to the digital world and to function as an on-the-go workstation. Until very recently, my notebook of choice had been the HP dv6000 series entertainment laptop. A full 15” glossy widescreen display with an expanded battery cell and a case full of handy accessories sure seemed like a great idea to keep me digitally viable while out and about... and it was at first.
