The scene unfolded one early summer morning when I went to the boardwalk to look out over the preserve. Almost immediately my attention was diverted to stage right, where two baby raccoons played together on a barren tree. The one that led the way was slender and timid. Its mission is to empower the youth of such regions with confidence, empathy, and respect and to subsequently equip them with diplomatic tools that will aid in fostering more peaceful affairs for the future, ideally, by contributing to the relief of turmoil within their home countries.
