The Campaign has already begun to work with some influential people to get the word out. Actress/model Kim Coles has joined the Facebook fan page and begun to show love to UHatin?, along with Miss Georgia 2009, Kimberly Gittings, and Miss Georgia Teen 2010, Caroline Wade. Wade recently wrote on the fan page, “I am so excited for this new campaign! Being in high school, I witness bullying every day. As Miss Georgia Teen, I really want to bring awareness against it."
DJ Drama, MTV’s 2009 DJ of The Year and T.I.’s official DJ, was introduced to the campaign through Angel Padilla, the program director for Valdosta’s LYX 96. Padilla is quick to point out that “this is a movement. People need to not just say UHatin? or ULuvin? but actually live by these principles.” He thought of his close friends DJ Sense (head of the Affiliate DJ’s) and DJ Drama, as soon as he heard about the slogan U Hatin? and its meaning. DJ Drama has a reputation for helping settle “beefs” in the Hip Hop world. When rappers Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy were fighting in the press and jabbing at each other through lyrics, DJ Drama was able to help them “neutralize the hate” on his radio show. He lets listeners know that it takes a “real man” to apologize and accept apologies. The Campaign is also happy to see that the record industry manger Anthony Murrey, and his artists', Hurricane Chris, Navajo and BG are supporters. Murrey states, “ We are all sick and tired of the jealousy problem in particular. Peoples lives end uselessly because of this...Everyone wishes it would go away!”
Tia Ross, a lead facilitator for Motivating the Teen Spirit (MTS) and an ambassador for UHatin?, looks forward to asking "gangsta rappers" on her program, Reality Check, about the kind of advice they give or plan on giving their own children and to explore peoples decisions and the consequences of those decisions. MTS is one of the leading organizations for teen empowerment. The founder, Lisa Nichols has made appearances on the Oprah Winfrey Show and Larry King Live to speak about and promote her motivational books and programs. MTS works with teens on making integrity based decisions, and according to Tia Ross, "not hating" is an integrity-based decision. Through the “Campaign to Neutralize Haters” they can now promote this powerful message to the general public. There have already been very positive reactions to the movement and clothing line. Felicia, the mother of 9-year-old Grant, claims that her boy is actually coping with life better because of the campaign. Instead of reacting when kids at school try to upset him, he laughs and realizes that “they are just ‘hatin’ and when people are ‘hatin’ you ignore them.” When his teacher asked him what the UHatin? shirt was all about, he told her it was for “neutralizing haters.” 15-year-old Tiffany, has been happier since she got her U Hatin? sweatshirt as well. She says it really helps her remember that her haters are her motivators. She loves that there is an organization like this and is excited about kids joining together from around the world to support this cause.
